Naval relief mission continues as INS Gharial prepares for massive aid deployment.
New Delhi/Yangon - Under Operation Brahma, the Indian Navy has intensified its humanitarian relief efforts for Myanmar, deploying multiple naval assets to deliver emergency aid to the crisis-hit region.
On March 31, 2025, INS Satpura and INS Savitri arrived in Yangon, carrying approximately 40 tons of relief material. Further reinforcing India's commitment to providing timely assistance, INS Karmuk and LCU 52 set sail from Sri Vijaypuram on March 30, 2025, with 30 tons of essential supplies, reaching Yangon on April 1, 2025.
Major Humanitarian Deployment
In a significant boost to ongoing relief operations, the Indian Naval Ship (INS) Gharial is being loaded with 440 tons of vital aid, including rice, edible oil, and medicines. This large-scale effort underscores India's unwavering commitment to supporting its regional neighbors during humanitarian crises.
As the First Responder in the Indian Ocean Region, the Indian Navy remains steadfast in its mission to provide timely aid, medical support, and logistical assistance to those in distress. The ongoing deployment highlights the country’s maritime strength and humanitarian leadership in the region.
