Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Leads Global Meditation at Maha Kumbh, Thousands Gather in Person and Virtually

Prayagraj - This year’s Maha Kumbh Mela became a truly transformative event with a unique spiritual experience orchestrated by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. On Tuesday evening, the global humanitarian and spiritual leader led thousands of pilgrims and saints in a satsang at the holy site of Maha Kumbh. The event was not only attended in person by a massive gathering, but millions from 180 countries also participated virtually, as Gurudev guided them through a powerful global meditation session.

The session was broadcast live via Gurudev’s official YouTube channel and The Art of Living’s Sattva app, bringing together seekers from around the world in a shared moment of stillness and spiritual growth. Gurudev’s teachings at this year’s Kumbh emphasized the essence of completion within oneself, achieved through the union of knowledge, devotion, and karma, symbolized by the sacred rivers Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati.

Gurudev shared profound insights during the event: "The confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati reflects the union of the Ida, Pingala, and Sushumna energy channels within us. When we become still in meditation, we experience the nectar of immortality," he said, further reinforcing the deep spiritual significance of the Maha Kumbh.

The Art of Living’s Service Initiatives at Maha Kumbh

In addition to the global meditation session, The Art of Living has continued its remarkable service efforts at the Maha Kumbh. Volunteers have been distributing food, Ayurvedic healthcare, and wellness services across 25 sectors, ensuring the well-being of the vast numbers of pilgrims attending the event. The Art of Living camp prepares over 1 ton of khichdi twice daily to feed 25,000–30,000 devotees, providing them with nourishing meals to sustain them during their spiritual journey.

In addition, more than 5,000 pilgrims have benefited from Ayurvedic pulse diagnoses conducted by expert Nadi Vaidyas from Sri Sri Tattva. The organization has also been distributing 250 tons of essential food supplies, including ghee, spices, lentils, and biscuits, to meet the needs of the pilgrims, saints, and akhadas.

Gurudev’s personal involvement in the event included a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam and a visit to the iconic Bade Hanuman Temple in Prayagraj. Throughout the week, The Art of Living camp hosted various sacred rituals, including Rudra Puja and Arun Prashna Homa, in Gurudev’s presence, fostering a deep sense of spiritual connection among attendees.

On Monday evening, Naga sadhus from the Juna Akhada and other distinguished guests joined Gurudev for the satsang, further adding to the sense of unity and devotion that the Kumbh is known for.

Through this year’s Maha Kumbh experience, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and The Art of Living have brought together people from across the globe, offering both spiritual guidance and vital humanitarian assistance to the millions gathered for this sacred occasion.
