Lucknow - Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has initiated comprehensive preparations for the grand occasion of Mouni Amavasya on January 29, 2025. With an estimated 8–10 crore devotees anticipated to take a holy dip at Sangam in Prayagraj, CM Yogi has instructed officials to ensure war-level arrangements for smooth crowd management and infrastructure support.
During a high-level meeting with senior state officials, the Chief Minister reviewed the arrangements made during Paush Purnima and Makar Sankranti, which saw over six crore pilgrims participating in the sacred rituals. Highlighting the enormity of the upcoming event, CM Yogi emphasized the need for proactive measures to accommodate the unprecedented influx of devotees.

Railway Coordination: The CM stressed coordinating with the Railways to ensure the smooth and timely operation of Mahakumbh special trains. He directed increasing the number of trains to cater to the growing volume of pilgrims.
24×7 Utilities: Yogi Adityanath instructed uninterrupted supply of electricity and water across all sectors of the Mela area. He also mandated regular cleaning of toilets and improved mobile network connectivity to aid communication.
Enhanced Transportation: The CM called for continuous operations of e-buses, shuttle buses, and district buses to facilitate easy transportation for devotees within Prayagraj and beyond.
Safety Measures: Ensuring public safety, the Chief Minister ordered barricading along the ghats and directed authorities to maintain proper crowd control mechanisms.
Collaborative Efforts by Key Officials The meeting witnessed the presence of senior officials, including the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, and Principal Secretaries of Home, Urban Development, and Power Corporation. Their combined efforts aim to make Mouni Amavasya 2025 a seamless spiritual experience for millions of pilgrims.
