Devdutt Padikkal’s Revival: Preparation, Clarity, Hunger
Addressing Devdutt Padikkal’s impact after rejoining RCB, Rangarajan pointed out the meticulous planning behind picking him up during the auction.
"We were very clear we wanted a left-hander, and Devdutt fit perfectly. His familiarity with players like Virat Kohli and the coaching setup made it easier," he explained.
Malolan also lauded Padikkal’s work ethic, saying the opener has been extremely receptive to technical inputs from Dinesh Karthik and Andy Flower. With nine games done, he added, Padikkal remains a key figure in RCB's playoff push.
Krunal Pandya and Suyash Sharma: Spin Combination Poised for Impact
Malolan Rangarajan underlined the contrasting styles and evolving skills of RCB’s frontline spinners, Krunal Pandya and Suyash Sharma.
He described Suyash as a game-changer: "Suyash has the ability to beat both edges of the bat and bowls at high speed. His unique action adds another layer of deception."
Meanwhile, Krunal’s reinvention impressed the coach. "Even at 34, Krunal is constantly working on new variations — more dip, drift, changing his release points," he said.
Malolan believes Suyash is destined to become a household name soon, while Krunal’s proven championship pedigree continues to be a critical asset.
