‘Nari Vetta’ kicks off its musical journey with a nostalgic ode to lost love and longing.
Thiruvananthapuram - The curtain rises on the musical soul of Nari Vetta, the much-anticipated film directed by Anuraj Manohar, as its first video song, "Minnalvala Kaiyilitta Pennazhake", featuring Tovino Thomas and Priyamvada Krishnan, is now officially released. The poignant track captures the emotional pulse of a man torn between duty and desire, set against the mesmerizing backdrop of Kuttanad.
Penned by legendary lyricist Kaithapram, composed by the ever-enchanting Jake Bijoy, and rendered by the melodious duo Sid Sriram and Sithara Krishnakumar, the song offers a hauntingly beautiful glimpse into the memories of SI Varghese Peter, played by Tovino.
“It’s more than just a love song—it’s the sigh of a soul caught between service and sentiment,” shared director Anuraj.
The song explores the bittersweet reflections of a police officer stationed away from home, whose heart is tethered to the warmth of his village and his beloved Nancy. As flashbacks unfold, viewers are taken on a journey through tender recollections, familial bonds, and the unspoken ache of distance.
Adding gravitas to the narrative are acclaimed actors Cheran and Suraj Venjaramoodu, who play pivotal roles. Produced under the Indian Cinema banner by Tipu Shan and Shiyas Hassan, the film is currently in post-production and was shot across Changanassery, Kottayam, Wayanad, and the lush locales of Kuttanad.
With a script penned by Abin Joseph, a Central Sahitya Akademi awardee, Nari Vetta promises to be a cinematic tribute to memory and identity—aptly framed by the film’s tagline: “A War of Memory Against Forgetting.”
