Amit Shah Likely to Visit MP Next Month Amid BJP Chief Speculation

Bhopal - Union Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to visit Madhya Pradesh next month, triggering political buzz as the state BJP prepares to appoint a new party president. The visit gains significance as it comes at a time when internal discussions over leadership change have intensified within the BJP's state unit.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav recently met Shah in Delhi and invited him to Bhopal, sources confirmed. Officially, Shah’s visit is scheduled for launching the state government's new dairy bonus scheme for farmers, but political circles are abuzz with speculation about possible discussions regarding the next BJP state president.

Leadership Race Intensifies

The BJP leadership in Delhi is likely to finalize the name of the next Madhya Pradesh BJP president during or after Shah’s visit. Several senior leaders and potential candidates have started lobbying for the post. Among the frontrunners is Betul MLA and former MP Hemant Khandelwal, who reportedly enjoys the backing of the RSS, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, and senior party functionaries.

Sources indicate that Khandelwal’s clean image and strong organizational background may work in his favour. Other senior leaders are also in contention, but caste and regional balance could influence the final decision.

Shah’s Strategic Outreach

This is not the first time Shah's visit is being linked to internal party deliberations. During his last visit for the Global Investors Summit, he had held closed-door discussions with key BJP leaders. Shah’s upcoming visit is expected to be a blend of official engagements and crucial political strategy meetings.

Party observers, including Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, have already been tasked with overseeing the selection of the next MP BJP president. The announcement is likely to be made in April.
