Record 10 Crore Devotees Take Holy Dip at Triveni Sangam During Mahakumbh 2025
Unprecedented turnout at Prayagraj's sacred confluence of Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati marks historic milestone in this year’s Mahakumbh
Prayagraj – The Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj has achieved a monumental milestone as more than 10 crore devotees have taken a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam by Thursday afternoon. The sacred confluence of the rivers Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythic Saraswati witnessed an outpouring of faith, with sadhus, saints, Kalpvasis, and millions of pilgrims participating in this revered ritual.
The Yogi government’s projections estimate a grand total of over 45 crore visitors for this year's Mahakumbh, and with the early achievement of 10 crore bathers, these predictions seem on track. On Thursday alone, a staggering 30 lakh devotees, including 10 lakh Kalpvasis, took part in the holy bath, further adding to the already massive influx of pilgrims.
The Mahakumbh has seen an extraordinary turnout during its bathing festivals, with a record 3.5 crore devotees observing the Amrit Snan on Makar Sankranti and 1.7 crore on Paush Purnima. These sacred festivals have brought people from all walks of life together, illustrating the theme of unity in diversity that defines the Mahakumbh.
Despite the unprecedented influx of pilgrims, daily life in Prayagraj remains unaffected. The district administration has ensured smooth operations of schools, businesses, and offices, with restrictions only applied during major bathing days. This seamless coordination has added to the joy and vibrancy of the event, making it a global celebration of faith, culture, and unity.
