Game-Changing Initiative to Boost Women’s Employment and Safety in Mobility Sector

Bengaluru - In a landmark move towards women’s empowerment and safer urban mobility, leading ride-hailing platform Rapido has announced the launch of ‘Pink Rapido’—a fleet of bikes exclusively driven by women, for women. The service, set to roll out in Karnataka by the end of this year, aims to create 25,000 jobs for female riders across the state.
The announcement was made by Rapido Co-founder Pavan Guntupalli at the Global Investment Summit (GIM) Invest Karnataka 2025, highlighting the company’s commitment to gender inclusivity and economic independence.
“If a woman can travel safely with an unknown driver and reach her destination without worry, that is our real success,” said Guntupalli.
Women’s Safety & Economic Independence at the Core
Beyond job creation, Pink Rapido focuses on women’s safety, financial independence, and workforce participation. Rapido has implemented advanced safety measures to ensure a secure riding experience, encouraging more women—especially from tier-2 and tier-3 cities—to join the workforce.
“Around 35% of our workforce comes from smaller cities and towns, proving that this initiative is not just for urban areas but for women across Karnataka, Game-Changing Initiative to Boost Women’s Employment and Safety in Mobility Sector” Guntupalli added.
