Banaswadi Garrison Celebrates International Yoga Day 2025 with Military Precision
Bengaluru, 21 June 2025 – The historic Banaswadi Military Garrison in Bengaluru echoed with discipline and harmony as it celebrated International Yoga Day 2025 in collaboration with The Art of Living International Foundation. Over 1,000 personnel and their families participated, making it one of the largest military-led yoga events in the region.
MILITARY DISCIPLINE MEETS SPIRITUAL WELLNESS
Under the global theme “One Earth, One Health through Yoga,” the event began at dawn, transforming the garrison’s parade ground into a sea of synchronized asanas. Soldiers and their families followed expert instructors Mr. Yogesh Pande and Ms. Tanmayee Desai, bringing together physical agility and mindful practice.
HOLISTIC WELLNESS FOR THE SOLDIER’S MIND AND BODY
The session was not just a celebration but a reinforcement of core military values—discipline, mental clarity, and emotional strength. Yoga, with its centuries-old practices, has become a powerful tool for operational resilience and stress management in the armed forces.
SYMBOLIC GESTURE TO CLOSE A MEANINGFUL MORNING
The event concluded with a ceremonial exchange between the Garrison Commander and the instructors. A token of respect—the ‘Fierce Gorkha’ memento—and the book “The Gurudev – Life of Sri Sri Ravishankar” were shared, followed by a collective pledge to adopt yoga as a daily practice for life and duty.
