SWR Announces Train Number Changes Effective March 2025

Bengaluru - The South Western Railway (SWR) has announced changes to the train numbers for several key services, set to take effect from March 2025. The alterations will apply to a range of daily and weekly express trains, though there will be no changes to the existing timings or stoppages.

The following changes will be implemented:

Dr. MGR Chennai Central-Mysuru Daily Express: The train number will change from 12609 to 16551, starting from the journey on March 1, 2025.

Mysuru-Dr. MGR Chennai Central Daily Express: The train number will change from 12610 to 16552, effective from the journey on March 2, 2025.

Yesvantpur-Thiruvananthapuram North Weekly Express: The train number will change from 22677 to 16561, starting from the journey on March 6, 2025.

Thiruvananthapuram North-Yesvantpur Weekly Express: The train number will change from 22678 to 16562, effective from the journey on March 7, 2025.

Dr. MGR Chennai Central-SSS Hubballi Weekly Express: The train number will change from 17311 to 20679, starting from March 7, 2025.

SSS Hubballi-Dr. MGR Chennai Central Weekly Express: The train number will change from 17312 to 20680, effective from March 6, 2025.

SWR has assured passengers that these changes will not affect the current train timings or the list of stops along the routes.

These updates are part of SWR's ongoing efforts to streamline operations and improve the overall travel experience for passengers across the Southern Railway network.
