Bengaluru- Air Force Station Yelahanka, a cornerstone of India's air defense, proudly commemorated its 60th year of service to the nation today. The year-long Diamond Jubilee celebrations, which commenced on 01 August 2023, concluded with a spectacular finale showcasing the station's rich legacy and contributions.

The grand event featured a captivating aerial display including transport and helicopter aircraft, thrilling para-jumping performances by the esteemed 'Akashganga’ sky-diving team, and a breathtaking demonstration by the Light Combat Helicopter-Prachand. Highlighting the station's technological prowess, a seminar on transport and helicopter operations was followed by the unveiling of a commemorative 'Special Cover’.

Throughout the jubilee year, Air Force Station Yelahanka hosted a series of activities aimed at fostering camaraderie and skill development among its personnel and their families. These included the commissioning of a state-of-the-art Full Motion Simulator (FMS), cycling and trekking expeditions, as well as air-adventure camps organized under the auspices of the Air Force Families Welfare Association.

Known globally for organizing the prestigious biennial 'Aero India', Yelahanka airbase has established itself as a hub of excellence in aviation training and operations. Air Marshal SK Indoria, Senior Air Staff Officer, Training Command, IAF, praised the station for its unwavering commitment to mission success and its pivotal role in nation-building through initiatives like Aero India.

The Diamond Jubilee celebrations not only honored the station's illustrious history but also underscored its ongoing dedication to advancing India's aerospace capabilities and safeguarding national interests.
