Kochi - The Indian Coast Guard’s ‘Surakshit Tat’ Cycle Rally, part of the Coast Guard Week 2025 celebrations, has captured national attention as 20 dedicated cyclists pedal their way along India’s western coastline to promote maritime safety, security, and national pride.

The rally commenced from Daman (UT) on February 2, 2025, and has successfully traversed Maharashtra, Goa, and Karnataka, overcoming the rugged terrains of the Western Ghats and the relentless coastal sun. This grueling journey highlights the resilience and determination of the Indian Coast Guard and its unwavering commitment to safeguarding India’s shores.

During the two-week expedition, the rally team engaged with local communities at key coastal points including Dahanu, Rajpuri, Dighi, Bharadkhol, Jaigad, Goa, and New Mangalore. Interactive programs were conducted to raise awareness about coastal security and the vital role of community participation in ensuring maritime safety.

As the rally enters its final phase, it has now reached Kerala and is set to conclude at Vizhinjam on February 23, 2025. The cyclists will pass through significant coastal towns such as Pilathara, Beypore, Thalikulam, Kochi, and Panmana, spreading their message of resilience, vigilance, and responsibility.

This initiative not only showcases the endurance and dedication of the participants but also serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of securing India’s maritime frontiers.
