Bengaluru - Olympic medalist and Arjuna awardee Lovlina Borgohain left audiences inspired at the 10th International Women’s Conference (IWC) with her heartfelt revelation of loss, self-discovery, and renewed purpose.

“Winning medals once defined success for me. But after my loss at the 2024 Olympics, I felt directionless. It was Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar who helped me see that true success is inspiring young athletes from humble beginnings. Today, mentoring them gives me unparalleled joy,” said Borgohain, earning admiration from the global audience.

Her words resonated deeply at the IWC, known for bridging the rural-urban divide through impactful skill development and women empowerment initiatives.

The conference’s second day featured an eclectic panel including filmmaker Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, Edelweiss Mutual Fund MD Radhika Gupta, and diplomat Ruchira Kamboj, each sharing their stories of breaking societal norms to pursue their dreams.

Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari encouraged risk-taking in pursuit of passion: “Open new doors fearlessly, and help will find you,” while Ruchira Kamboj emphasized authenticity over outcomes: “Freedom lies in redefining your boundaries.”

Bengaluru entrepreneur Aishwarya DKS Hegde delivered a stirring keynote on education’s role in empowerment: “Education transforms knowledge into wisdom, builds courage, and fosters equality.”

A highlight of the event was the ‘Circle of Wisdom’ session with legendary actress Hema Malini and her daughter Esha Deol, discussing motherhood, art, and the impact of social media on mental health.

“Social media’s overuse is stealing the present moment from people,” said Deol, appreciating the serene ashram setting for its focus on self-love and mindfulness.

At the heart of IWC’s two-decade legacy is Smt. Bhanumathi Narasimhan, sister of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and Chairperson of IWC. Her visionary leadership has brought together 463 speakers and 6,000 delegates from 115 countries, driving initiatives that uplift women through education, livelihood, and spiritual well-being.
