Punjab Kings Kickstart IPL 2025 Preparations in Dharamsala

Dharamsala - Punjab Kings (PBKS) have officially commenced their training camp for the upcoming 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the picturesque Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamsala. The camp, which runs from March 12 to March 15, is aimed at refining team strategies and preparing players for the high-stakes tournament.

Under the guidance of head coach Ricky Ponting, assistant coach Brad Haddin, and fast-bowling coach James Hopes, key Indian players—including wicketkeeper-batter Prabhsimran Singh, all-rounder Shashank Singh, and veteran leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal—have joined the camp.

Explaining the decision to train in Dharamsala, Ricky Ponting stated, "A lot of the players haven’t played at this ground, and with three crucial games scheduled here at the backend of the tournament, we wanted them to get accustomed to the conditions."

Punjab Kings Squad to Move Training to Mullanpur from March 16

Following the Dharamsala camp, the Punjab Kings squad will shift to Mullanpur on March 16. The team will be joined by captain Shreyas Iyer and pacer Arshdeep Singh, both of whom were part of India's Champions Trophy-winning squad in Dubai. The squad will continue training at their home ground, the new PCA Stadium, alongside international stars Marcus Stoinis, Glenn Maxwell, Marco Jansen, and Lockie Ferguson.

Before this intensive training phase, PBKS had conducted four preparatory camps to strengthen team bonding and help players acclimatize to various playing conditions. These included a camp in Mumbai in January, two in Chandigarh, and an earlier camp in Dharamsala in March.
