New Delhi - In a bold display of confidence in its young athletes, India has dispatched a formidable 56-member contingent to Amman, Jordan, for the prestigious Asian U-15 & U-17 Boxing Championships. The championship, taking place from April 17 to May 1, marks the first major event organized by Asian Boxing, with the official endorsement of the Olympic Council of Asia and the newly-established World Boxing body.
Future Olympians in the Making: Medal Winners Lead India’s Charge
The U-17 boys’ lineup features some of the brightest emerging talents including Sahil Duhan and Devansh, both medalists from the 2024 Asian Junior Championships, and Tikam Singh, the gold medallist at the 2024 SGFI Nationals.
On the girls’ side, the squad is spearheaded by Samiksha Singh, Anshika, and Khushi Chand, all of whom stood on the podium at the 2024 Asian School Boys & Girls Championships in Al Ain, UAE.
The U-15 squad is no less impressive, featuring Ravi Sihag — a bronze medallist in Al Ain — and Trushna Mohite, the reigning sub-junior national champion in the 64-67 kg category.

The Indian contingent’s participation was secured after the Boxing Federation of India’s Interim Committee resolved procedural hurdles in record time. Their timely intervention ensured the nation’s brightest boxing prospects could showcase their talent on this elite stage.
The team, including athletes, coaching staff, and officials, departed for Amman on April 17, with the tournament’s preliminary bouts set to begin on April 19 following the draw on April 18.
