KKR’s Bharat Arun Confident Ahead of Rajasthan Clash: ‘Key is Seizing Crucial Moments’
Guwahati - Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) bowling coach Bharat Arun remains unfazed by his team’s opening loss to Royal Challengers Bengaluru, expressing confidence ahead of their pivotal IPL 2025 clash against Rajasthan Royals at Barsapara Stadium.
“We are not too worried about it,” Arun said, emphasizing the positives from their first match while acknowledging areas for improvement. Stressing the importance of capitalizing on critical moments, he stated, “Every team is batting and bowling well. But the team that snatches those crucial moments at any given point of time is going to win.”
Guwahati: KKR’s ‘Second Home’
Arun shared a personal connection with the venue, calling Guwahati “our second home” due to its cultural proximity to Kolkata. The team is comfortable playing here and aims to use the familiar conditions to their advantage.
“The wicket looks good, the conditions are excellent, and the outfield looks really, really good,” he added, further boosting KKR’s confidence ahead of the match.
Backing Andre Russell & Team Strategy
Despite an underwhelming performance in the opening game, all-rounder Andre Russell has the full backing of the coaching staff. “Sport is about failing,” Arun noted. “For champions like Russ, it must be weighing on his mind that he has failed in the last game, and he is out to prove himself in every single game.”
Arun reiterated KKR’s strategic approach, stating, “There's no point in just targeting one player. We have to look at the team as a whole and devise a strategy accordingly.”
As the high-stakes encounter against Rajasthan Royals looms, KKR remains focused on bouncing back and securing their first win of IPL 2025.
