NCC Trivandrum Group Hosts Donation Drive for Old Age Home, Bringing Joy and Support to Elderly Women

Thiruvananthapuram- In a heartening act of community service, the 2 Kerala Battalion NCC, under the aegis of NCC Group Headquarters Thiruvananthapuram, organized a donation drive at the Old Age Home for Women in Poojapura, Thiruvananthapuram.

The event was graced by Brigadier Anand Kumar, NCC Group Commander of Trivandrum Group, accompanied by the first lady Mrs. Vishnupriya Anand, the Commanding Officer Colonel J Chaudhari, SM, NCC cadets, Associate NCC Officers (ANOs), and Permanent Instructors (PI) staff.

The initiative resulted in the donation of essential items valued at ₹40,000, including a modern refrigerator, adult diapers, buckets, and mugs. These contributions aim to enhance the comfort and well-being of the residents, offering them necessary amenities for daily life.

The superintendent of the old age home, alongside its elderly residents, received the items with profound gratitude. She expressed appreciation for the NCC's generosity and its commitment to community welfare.

The cadets, as part of their training in social responsibility, engaged with the elderly and differently-abled residents of the home. The interactions brought smiles and blessings from the women, who wished the cadets a bright future.
