IAF Air Defence Commander Graces Mysuru for Air Force Golf Cup 2025
Air Vice Marshal Joy Thomas Kurien Celebrates 62 Years of 2 AFSB with Prestigious Golf Tournament

Bengaluru, March 3, 2025: Air Vice Marshal Joy Thomas Kurien, Vayusena Medal, Air Defence Commander of the Southern Air Command, Indian Air Force, visited the 2 Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) in Mysuru on March 1, 2025. He was accorded a warm welcome by Air Commodore Abhijit Tokekar, Vayusena Medal, Air Officer Commanding, 2 AFSB, on his arrival.
The Air Vice Marshal was the Chief Guest for the prestigious Air Force Golf Cup 2025, held at the Jayachamaraj Wadeyar Golf Club (JWGC) in Mysuru on March 2, 2025. The Air Force Trophy was instituted by the Indian Air Force in 1987 to mark the Silver Jubilee of the 2 AFSB, Mysuru. This year, the Board proudly celebrated 62 years of dedicated service in officer selection for the IAF.
During his visit, Air Vice Marshal Kurien engaged in an interactive session with members of the Jayachamaraj Wadeyar Golf Club Committee and other dignitaries at a special dinner hosted by 2 AFSB on March 1, 2025. The following day, he presented trophies to the winners and runners-up, handing over the coveted Air Force Golf Trophy to the best player of the tournament.
Expressing his gratitude, Air Vice Marshal Kurien applauded the Jayachamaraj Wadeyar Golf Club Committee members and the organising committee for their meticulous efforts in conducting the event with professionalism and enthusiasm.
