Tiger Triumph 2025: Mountain Moves and Martial Arts: India-US Troops Bond in Tiger Triumph 2025
Indian and US forces strengthen operational synergy and mutual trust in Indo-Pacific-focused tri-service exercise.

Bengaluru - As part of Exercise Tiger Triumph 2025, the ongoing India-US tri-service Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operation, troops from both nations participated in an intense and diverse training day that fused physical resilience, military acumen, and rich cultural heritage.
Conducted at HQ Eastern Fleet Sports Complex and INS Karna, the joint drills emphasized mountain warfare techniques, physical conditioning, and cultural integration—reinforcing the operational interoperability and trust between two of the world’s largest democracies.
Yoga Meets Combat: Physical Conditioning with a Martial Twist
Soldiers from the Indian Army’s 8 Gorkha Infantry Battalion Group and the 11th Airborne Division “Bobcats” of the US Army engaged in a synchronized Yoga and martial arts session to kick off the day. The joint performance of Surya Namaskar was followed by a demonstration of AMAR (Army Martial Arts Routine)—the Indian Army’s indigenous combat training system.
The session promoted physical wellness, mindfulness, and self-defence proficiency, bridging traditional Indian practices with modern combat readiness.
Scaling New Heights: Mountain Warfare Mastery at INS Karna
Troops then proceeded to INS Karna, where they conducted joint training in mountain warfare and vertical mobility operations. The exercises involved:
- Tactical base construction (triangular, linear, rectangular)
- Rope stretchers for evacuation
- Essential knots and hitches
- Rock climbing, rappelling, and slithering techniques
These drills focused on enhancing capability in rugged terrain and high-altitude operations, a core skill in the Indo-Pacific security landscape.
Khukri Dance & Brotherhood: Cultural Night Seals the Day
In the evening, camaraderie reached a high note as Indian soldiers performed the electrifying “Gorkha Fury”, a Khukri-based martial dance showcasing Gorkha heritage, agility, and battlefield ethos. The US contingent responded with admiration, applauding the blend of martial tradition and cultural pride.
This symbolic exchange encapsulated the spirit of Tiger Triumph 2025—a convergence of strength, strategy, and shared values.
