Thiruvananthapuram – In a powerful display of environmental commitment, nearly 200 NCC cadets from the Trivandrum Group converged at Shanmukham Beach to celebrate International Ocean Clean Up Day on September 21, 2024. This impactful event featured participation from 2 K Bn NCC, 1 Kerala Naval Unit, and 1 Kerala Air Squadron, alongside dedicated PI staff and ANOs.

The day kicked off with a ceremonial flag-off by Brig Anand Kumar, Cdr of Trivandrum Group NCC, at 8:00 AM, setting the stage for a collective effort to enhance marine conservation. Collaborating with local NGO ‘Parayavaran Organisation,’ the cadets engaged in extensive clean-up activities, removing plastic waste and debris to protect the precious coastal ecosystem.

Their dedication resonated with beachgoers and local residents, who praised the NCC for its proactive role in promoting environmental awareness and cleanliness.

This initiative not only highlights the NCC’s mission to nurture disciplined, patriotic youth but also reinforces the importance of environmental responsibility in today’s world.
