Indian Coast Guard Executes Swift Rescue Operation, Saves Fisherman's Life at Sea

Bengaluru - In a display of swift and decisive action, the Indian Coast Guard successfully conducted a life-saving rescue operation, evacuating critically ill fisherman Ajin (26 years) from the fishing boat IFB Jazeera, located 40 nautical miles off the coast of Beypore, Kerala.
The rescue operation was initiated following a distress call from the AD Fisheries, Beypore, reporting the medical emergency of a fisherman who had fallen critically ill due to ingesting seawater into his lungs. Despite the prompt rescue efforts of the IFB, the fisherman's condition continued to deteriorate rapidly.
Responding to the urgent distress call, the Indian Coast Guard promptly dispatched an Advanced Light Helicopter equipped with a medical team from Kochi, alongside the Coast Guard ships Aryaman & C-404. The coordinated efforts ensured swift and efficient assistance to the distressed fishing vessel.
Upon locating the IFB Jazeera, the Coast Guard helicopter airlifted the patient and transferred him to a hospital in Kochi for immediate medical attention. The timely intervention of the Indian Coast Guard medical team proved instrumental in stabilizing the patient's condition.
Currently, Ajin is under observation, and his condition is reported to be stable, thanks to the timely and coordinated efforts of the Indian Coast Guard personnel involved in the rescue operation.
This successful rescue mission underscores the Indian Coast Guard's unwavering commitment to maritime safety and its motto, "Vayam Rakshama" (We Protect), reaffirming its role as a guardian of the seas and a savior of lives in distress.
