Chief of the Air Staff Inaugurates IAF's First-Ever Emergency Medical Response System at CHAF Bengaluru

Bengaluru- In a significant step towards enhancing medical readiness and ensuring timely assistance during emergencies, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, Chief of the Air Staff, Indian Air Force, inaugurated the first-ever Emergency Medical Response System (EMRS) at Command Hospital Air Force Bengaluru (CHAFB) on 21 May 2024.
The EMRS, a pioneering initiative by the Indian Air Force, establishes a 24/7 telephonic medical helpline for serving IAF personnel and their families nationwide. Its primary objective is to deliver expert guidance and definitive care during medical emergencies, wherever they may occur across the country.
This innovative system will ensure a prompt response from a team of medical and paramedical professionals to callers in distress. The responding medical personnel will offer immediate advice while coordinating with the nearest IAF medical facility to ensure swift assistance. The EMRS underscores the IAF's commitment to leveraging technology for delivering high-quality healthcare during emergencies, ultimately aiming to save precious lives.
The inauguration event included a demonstration showcasing the system's capabilities and reach. It emphasized the ease with which expert guidance will be provided to distressed callers, as well as the expedited dispatch of a medical support team from the nearest medical facility.
