Bengaluru - In a remarkable display of grit and determination, Ironman Colonel Jangvir Lamba, a 52-year-old serving Indian Army Officer, emerged triumphant in the 38th Legendary Marathon Des Sables, held amidst the unforgiving sands of the Moroccan Sahara from April 14 to 20, 2024.

Over 900 athletes from 60 nations braved the scorching temperatures, which soared up to 50 degrees Celsius, to participate in this grueling multi-stage event. Against the backdrop of one of the world's most hostile environments, competitors were tasked with traversing a staggering distance of 253.5 kilometers, navigating through endless sand dunes, rocky jebels, and blistering salt plains, carrying their own survival essentials.

Colonel Lamba, exhibiting unparalleled resilience and endurance, completed the marathon in a remarkable time of 67 hours and 07 minutes.
