Air Commodore SB Arunkumar Receives Prime Minister’s Trophy as Karnataka & Goa NCC Shines at National Level
Bengaluru – In a moment of national pride, the NCC Directorate of Karnataka & Goa was awarded the coveted Prime Minister's Banner and Trophy at the Republic Day Camp (RDC) 2025, held on January 27 at the Field Marshal Cariappa Parade Ground, New Delhi. The recognition, presented by Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, marks a major achievement for the Directorate, highlighting their excellence across a range of NCC activities throughout the year.
Exemplary Performance at RDC 2025
The Prime Minister’s Banner, a prestigious accolade, is awarded to the Directorate that showcases the highest standards of discipline, professionalism, and performance in a variety of NCC activities. Karnataka & Goa’s Directorate rose above 16 other participating Directorates, excelling in competitions related to drill, firing, cultural events, and more. The Directorate's consistent performance in centrally organized camps and competitions throughout the year earned them this top honor.
A Year of Triumphs and Teamwork
Air Commodore SB Arunkumar VSM, the Deputy Director General of NCC Directorate Karnataka & Goa, received the Prime Minister's Banner during the PM’s Rally at the event. The Directorate’s success this year has been built on a foundation of rigorous training and hard work. Notably, the Directorate topped the All India Vayu Sainik Camp, Inter Directorate Shooting Championship, and All India Thal Sainik Camp (Boys & Girls), and also triumphed at the Yachting Regatta, among other competitions.
Individual Brilliance Shines
Among the standout achievements at RDC 2025 was Cadet Sgt Shreyas Sudip Mitra of the 1 Karnataka Air Squadron, who was awarded the prestigious PM’s Baton as the Best Senior Division Air Wing Cadet. Additionally, four other cadets from the Directorate earned 'Runners-Up' medals in the Best Cadet competition, further solidifying the Directorate’s reputation for excellence.

Air Commodore SB Arunkumar expressed immense pride in the Directorate’s achievement, attributing the success to the professionalism, determination, and relentless effort of the cadets and staff. He also credited the strong support from state government authorities and various educational institutions, which played a vital role in the Directorate’s success this year.
