Director General Employment Seminar Empowers Ex-Servicemen at Air Force Station Jalahalli
Bengaluru - Today, the Directorate General of Resettlement, Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defence, hosted a transformative Job Fair at Air Force Station Jalahalli (West), Bengaluru. The event aimed to facilitate the re-employment of Ex-Servicemen by bridging them with potential employers.
Ex-Servicemen from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh turned out in impressive numbers, with 1662 former personnel from the Army, Navy, and Air Force registering for employment opportunities. The Job Fair featured 48 companies offering a total of 1125 job vacancies and entrepreneurial openings, providing a diverse array of career paths from senior supervisors to strategic planners.
The initiative garnered significant interest from both corporate entities and veterans alike. For the Ex-Servicemen, it served as a platform to showcase their extensive skills in technical and administrative fields honed during their military service. Corporates, on the other hand, benefited from access to a pool of disciplined and experienced professionals ready to contribute to civilian roles.
Among the dignitaries present were Chief Guest Dr. Niten Chandra, IAS, Secretary (ESW), and Guest of Honour Mr. Rabindra Srikantan, Vice Chairman of CII Karnataka State Council & Managing Director ASM Technologies Ltd. Also in attendance were AVM RV Ram Kishore, VSM, Maj Gen SBK Singh DG(R), Brig Rohit Mehta ADG, DRZ (South), and Air Cmde Santosh KP Hegde, AOC Air Force Station, Jalahalli, Bengaluru.
The event not only focused on job placements but also highlighted entrepreneurship opportunities, with several companies presenting innovative models to encourage veterans to embark on entrepreneurial ventures.
The Job Fair marks a crucial initiative by the Directorate General of Resettlement to support Ex-Servicemen in transitioning into successful civilian careers, embodying the commitment of the Ministry of Defence towards their welfare and post-service empowerment.
