Bengaluru Develops Cutting-Edge Simulator for NDA Cadets

Bengaluru - The Software Development Institute (SDI) of the Indian Air Force (IAF) in Bengaluru has unveiled a state-of-the-art Super Dimona aircraft simulator designed for the National Defence Academy (NDA). This advanced simulation tool, a result of collaborative efforts with local industries, aims to enhance the flying training of NDA cadets.

The initiative was driven by the Air Force Training Team (AFTT), which highlighted the necessity for an advanced simulator to familiarize cadets with basic flying operations. The newly developed simulation software, including intricate flight dynamics, features a 135-degree field of view (FOV) immersive display to significantly improve the visual experience during training.

In line with the Atma Nirbhar Bharat initiative, local industries played a crucial role in the mechanical modification and fabrication of essential flight controls, display screens, and other aircraft panels, ensuring authenticity and functionality.

During the unveiling, the Commandant of SDI emphasized the simulator’s role in refining training quality and ensuring a smoother transition for cadets into actual flying experiences. This development marks a significant step forward in enhancing the effectiveness of air force training programs.
