Protest Erupts Outside Allu Arjun’s Home After Tragic Stampede at ‘Pushpa 2’ Premiere

Hyderabad- A violent protest erupted outside the home of actor Allu Arjun in Hyderabad on Sunday, following the tragic stampede that occurred during the premiere of his much-anticipated film Pushpa 2. The demonstration was sparked by the death of a woman in the chaos at the Pushpa 2 premiere on December 4. Protesters, reportedly from the Osmania University Joint Action Committee (JAC), gathered outside the actor’s residence, vandalizing property and throwing tomatoes in a display of anger.
The group is demanding a compensation of ₹1 crore for the family of the deceased woman. Police were deployed to disperse the crowd, and security at Allu Arjun’s residence has been heightened.
The stampede at the Sandhya Theatre claimed the life of Revathi, while her 8-year-old son remains in critical condition, currently in a coma at a local hospital.
Controversy Over Allu Arjun’s Role in the Incident
The controversy surrounding the incident deepened when Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) stated in the legislative assembly that Allu Arjun had attended the Pushpa 2 premiere despite not receiving permission from the police. The CM pointed out that the actor had waved at fans from his car’s sunroof during a roadshow, which allegedly contributed to the crowd surge that led to the stampede. Following the tragic incident, Allu Arjun was reportedly reluctant to leave the theater, and police had to escort him out. A video surfaced later showing the actor being escorted out of the cinema, supporting the CM's remarks.
Arrest and Bail
In the aftermath of the incident, Allu Arjun was arrested, but he was granted bail by the Telangana High Court the following day after posting a bond of ₹50,000.
Allu Arjun’s Statement on the Tragedy
Allu Arjun has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident, calling it an unfortunate accident. He extended his condolences to the bereaved family and said, “I have been closely monitoring the condition of the child who is in the hospital. Thankfully, there has been some improvement. There have been many rumors and false accusations, but I do not wish to blame any department or politician. My character is being tarnished.”
