New terminal access points, train handling adjustments, and infrastructure upgrades in progress

Bengaluru - The Bengaluru Cantonment Railway Station, a critical hub for railway passengers, has implemented significant changes in train operations and platform access. As one of the busiest railway stations in the city, it currently manages 58 Mail/Express trains and 37 Passenger trains, making it a vital transit point for thousands of commuters.

Revised Platform Handling for Trains

Passengers traveling towards Baiyyappanahalli from Bengaluru Cantonment must now board from Platform Number 2, accessible via Terminal 2 (Miller’s Road entrance). However, certain key services, including Train Nos. 20671/2 (Bengaluru Cantonment - Madurai) and 20641/2 (Bengaluru Cantonment - Coimbatore) Vande Bharat Express, have been shifted to newly constructed Platforms 1A to 1E, located at the end of Platform 1 (Cantonment Road/Shivaji Nagar side).

Passenger Advisory: Terminal Access & Entry Points

Passengers traveling on these specific trains must enter through Terminal 1 (Cantonment Road/Shivaji Nagar) and walk through Platform 1 to reach Platforms 1A to 1E. To ease movement, a temporary entry point has been provided at Terminal 1, approximately 100 meters from the main entrance. Those using buses can conveniently alight at the Cantonment Bus Stop, which is nearest to Terminal 1.

For all other trains, passengers should continue to use Terminal 2 (Miller’s Road entrance). However, due to ongoing construction, parking facilities at Terminal 2 are currently unavailable. Travelers requiring parking must use Terminal 1.

Foot Over Bridge (FOB) & Ticketing Facilities

To assist passengers who enter through the wrong terminal, the Foot Over Bridge (FOB) remains operational, enabling easy movement between platforms.

For ticketing services, Terminal 1 (Cantonment Road side) houses a Passenger Reservation Counter along with four Unreserved Ticket Counters. Meanwhile, Terminal 2 (Miller’s Road side) offers two UTS counters and an Automatic Ticket Vending Machine (ATVM).

Ongoing Infrastructure Development

The Indian Railways is committed to enhancing facilities at Bengaluru Cantonment Station. The current infrastructure upgrade aims to streamline passenger movement and improve travel convenience.

Passengers are advised to arrive early, check their platform details in advance, and follow signage throughout the station to avoid last-minute confusion.
