RSS Sees Unprecedented Expansion in Its Centenary Year, With Over 1.27 Lakh Shakhas, Milans, and Mandalis

Bengaluru, March 21, 2025 - The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) commenced its three-day Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) 2025 at Janaseva Vidyakendra, Channenahalli, Bengaluru. The session was inaugurated by Sarsanghachalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat and Sarakaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale, who paid floral tributes to Bharat Mata.
Addressing the media, Sah Sarkaryavaha Mukunda CR shared key statistics and insights on the organisation’s growth, expansion strategies, and contributions to national and social welfare.
RSS Organisational Growth and Expansion
Mukunda CR revealed that the total number of RSS functionaries attending ABPS 2025 is 1,482. He reported a significant expansion of RSS activities, particularly in rural areas. The latest figures showcase:

To mark RSS’s centenary year, 2,453 Shatabdi Vistaraks (full-time workers) dedicated two years to organisational expansion. Notably, more than 1.63 lakh youth (ages 14-25) joined the RSS through Prarambhik Vargas (Initial Camps), underscoring its growing appeal among young Indians.
Tributes to Eminent Personalities
The ABPS paid homage to several luminaries, including Dr. Manmohan Singh, Ustad Zakir Hussain, Shyam Benegal, Pritish Nandy, S. M. Krishna, and Maharana Mahendra Singh, among others. Social activists, educationists, and spiritual leaders were also remembered for their contributions to society.
Social Impact and Harmony Initiatives
Mukunda CR elaborated on RSS’s efforts in fostering social harmony and eradicating regressive practices. Notable achievements include:
- 1,084 locations where Swayamsevaks have worked to end discriminatory practices in temples and public spaces.
- 260+ initiatives to aid sanitary workers with food, medical care, and better working conditions.
- Over 89,706 social service projects focusing on education, healthcare, self-reliance, and rural development.
Major Highlights of ABPS 2025
Environmental Drive: The ‘One Thali-One Thaili’ campaign collected 14.17 lakh steel plates and 13.46 lakh cloth bags to promote a plastic-free Maha Kumbh.
Healthcare Initiative: ‘Netra Kumbh’ provided free eye tests to 2.37 lakh people, 1.63 lakh received spectacles, and 17,069 underwent free cataract surgery.
Manipur Crisis Response: RSS workers have been actively engaged in relief efforts to rebuild trust and unity among affected communities in the state.
Cultural and National Integration Efforts
The Sarsanghachalak’s nationwide outreach included visits to Arunachal Pradesh, Kanyakumari, and Hindu spiritual institutions like ISKCON, Ramakrishna Mission, and Bharat Sevashram Sangha. The discussions focused on strengthening Hindu unity and addressing challenges faced by Hindus globally.
Mukunda CR concluded by urging all communities to uphold harmony, brotherhood, and national unity, emphasizing the RSS’s commitment to nation-building and social transformation.
