Vadodara - As Delhi Capitals prepare to kick off their WPL 2025 campaign against Mumbai Indians on February 15 in Vadodara, Head Coach Jonathan Batty and Captain Meg Lanning expressed confidence in the team’s readiness for the upcoming season.

Lanning, who led the team to two consecutive finals, emphasized, “We’ve played quality cricket in the past two seasons. With small tweaks and our powerful squad, we aim to take that final step this season.” Batty echoed the sentiment, highlighting the growth of domestic players through consistent off-season training.

Reflecting on WPL’s impact, Lanning noted, “The league has immensely boosted women’s cricket, providing local talent with exposure to top-level competition.” Batty added, “Young Indian players are challenging experienced ones, and signings like Niki add strength to our squad.”

Delhi Capitals will face Mumbai Indians on February 15, Royal Challengers Bengaluru on February 17, and UP Warriorz on February 19 in Vadodara. Lanning concluded, “Our pre-season camp in Pune has set the tone, and we’re excited to begin our campaign.
