Former CM Basavaraj Bommai Accuses CM Siddaramaiah of MLAs' Parade in Delhi to Distract from MUDA Scam
Bommai Criticizes Congress for Hypocrisy on Jindal Land Allotment and Defends Governor’s Bill Review Authority
Hubballi: Former Chief Minister and MP Basavaraj Bommai has accused Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of orchestrating a parade of MLAs in Delhi to divert attention from the ongoing MUDA scam. Speaking to the media on Saturday, Bommai criticized Siddaramaiah for employing political maneuvers to safeguard his position while the MUDA scam remains under legal scrutiny.
Bommai also slammed Congress leaders for their perceived hypocrisy regarding the land allotment to Jindal. He alleged that Congress members have shown double standards, shifting their stance based on whether they are in power or opposition. Despite initial opposition within the Cabinet, the same Congress leaders now support the land deal they once opposed.
Addressing concerns over the Governor's decision to return certain bills for further clarification, Bommai defended the Governor's actions. He explained that the Governor’s review is not driven by malice but is a constitutional measure to ensure bills align with public interest. Bommai reiterated that the Governor has the authority to seek clarifications and, if necessary, forward bills to the President.
