ECHS Awareness Meet for Veterans Held at Command Hospital Air Force, Bangalore

Bengaluru - The Regional Centre ECHS Bangalore conducted an important awareness programme for veterans and their dependents on July 31, 2024, at the TG Jones Auditorium, Command Hospital Air Force, Bangalore. The event aimed to update ex-servicemen on the latest policies of the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) and enhance their understanding of available benefits.

The session, attended by 170 ECHS beneficiaries, was inaugurated by Group Captain Manoj Krishna A Pillai, Director of the Regional Centre ECHS. In his address, Pillai encouraged veterans to utilize the features of the ECHS mobile app, including E-SeHAT teleconsultations and online medicine delivery, to streamline their medical care. He also emphasized the importance of staying informed about ECHS procedures for both veterans and their families.

The programme featured a lecture on cardiac health by Wing Commander Rajeev Chauhan from Command Hospital Air Force Bangalore, focusing on prevention and management of heart-related issues. Additionally, Group Captain Somdutta Basu Chaudhury, Joint Director (Hospital Services) at the Regional Centre ECHS Bangalore, provided a detailed briefing on medical treatment procedures and policies regarding medical claims. Common errors in claim submissions were also addressed.

The event provided a valuable platform for veterans to gain clarity on their entitlements under the ECHS and resolve any queries they had. The meeting concluded with an open house session for direct interactions and a high tea, offering veterans an opportunity to discuss their concerns and network with peers.
