Haveri - Former Chief Minister and Member of Parliament Basavaraj Bommai has defended the grant of bail to Yediyurappa in the POSCO case, affirming it as a justifiable decision by the court.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Bommai emphasized that the veteran BJP leader's involvement in such allegations was unfounded and part of a conspiracy. He highlighted Yediyurappa's cooperation with the investigation agency, indicating his innocence in the matter. Bommai asserted that Yediyurappa's exemplary behavior played a crucial role in the court's decision to grant temporary relief, which he deemed as justified and commendable.
Furthermore, Bommai depicted the case against Yediyurappa as a deep-rooted political conspiracy, pointing to significant lapses in the issuance of warrants and previous false cases filed against him. He expressed confidence in Yediyurappa's ability to emerge victorious in the legal battle, citing his track record of overcoming similar challenges in the past.
Bommai concluded by reaffirming his belief that Yediyurappa would emerge unscathed from all allegations, attributing them to political maneuvers aimed at tarnishing his reputation.
