Adm Dinesh K Tripathi Concludes Strategic Visit to Andaman and Nicobar Command, Reinforces India's Maritime Security Vision

Port Blair- Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi concluded his four-day official visit to the Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC), reaffirming the strategic significance of the region in India’s maritime security framework. The visit, which took place from March 1 to 4, underscored the Indian Navy’s commitment to strengthening operational readiness and enhancing infrastructure in the region.

Upon arrival, Adm Tripathi was received by Air Marshal Saju Balakrishnan, Commander-in-Chief of the Andaman and Nicobar Command (CINCAN), and accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour at INS Utkrosh. The CNS reviewed operational preparedness, interacted with personnel at INS Baaz and INS Kardip, and assessed key strategic initiatives aimed at bolstering India’s maritime security posture.

During his address to officers, sailors, defence civilians, DSC, and MES personnel, Adm Tripathi lauded the Josh, Jazbaa, and Junoon demonstrated by ANC personnel in augmenting operational and administrative capabilities. He acknowledged ongoing infrastructure projects and initiatives designed to enhance the quality of life for personnel.

Adm Tripathi emphasized the strategic and geographical importance of ANC as a gateway to Southeast Asia and the broader Indo-Pacific region, aligning with the Government of India’s Act East Policy. He highlighted various policy initiatives at Service Headquarters and HQ IDS India aimed at synergizing joint combat power applications at ANC.

The CNS reiterated the need for units to maintain combat readiness while prioritizing safety, security, and the well-being of personnel. Earlier in the day, he laid the foundation stone for the Naval Model Complex at Sri Vijaya Puram, inaugurated the Utkrosh Officers' Mess, and unveiled the Prefabricated Sailors' Transit Accommodation at VijayBagh, reinforcing the Navy’s commitment to infrastructure modernization.

With increasing challenges in the maritime domain, Adm Tripathi’s visit reaffirmed the Indian Navy’s strategic focus on the Andaman and Nicobar Islands as a key pillar in safeguarding national interests in the Indo-Pacific region.
