100 Years of RSS: Dattatreya Hosabale Announces Key Initiatives for Expansion

RSS Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale Sets the Roadmap for Centenary Year

Bengaluru - RSS Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale commenced his briefing by paying homage to the martyrs Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev on their martyrdom day, recalling their immense contribution to India’s freedom struggle. He urged society to draw inspiration from their sacrifices in nation-building efforts.

He then highlighted the ABPS statement on Rani Abbakka, honoring her on her 500th birth anniversary. Recognizing Maharani Abbakka as one of India’s greatest female freedom fighters, he described her as a fearless warrior and skilled administrator who valiantly defended Ullal (Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka) against Portuguese forces. He noted that the Government of India had issued a postal stamp in her honor in 2003 and named a patrol vessel after her in 2009. He called upon society to draw inspiration from her leadership and courage.

RSS at 100: Expansion and Consolidation

As RSS completes 100 years on Vijayadashami this year, Hosabale emphasized that the organization’s focus is not on celebration but on introspection, acknowledging societal support, and rededicating itself to the nation. He reiterated that the Sangh’s mission continues as part of an ongoing national effort.

From the next Vijayadashami, the RSS will initiate six key activities as part of its centenary-year expansion:

  • Vijayadashami 2025: Large-scale Swayamsevak events in traditional uniform at Khand/town level, with an address by the Sarsanghachalak.
  • Nationwide Contact Program (Nov 2025 - Jan 2026): Three-week door-to-door campaign under the theme "Har Gaon, Har Basti, Ghar-Ghar" to distribute RSS literature and organize local events.
  • Hindu Conventions: Mandal and Basti-level programs promoting Hindu unity, harmony, and contributions to nation-building.
  • Social Cohesion Meets: City-level meetings focusing on harmonious living and preserving cultural roots in modern India.
  • Citizen Dialogues: District-level programs to counter misinformation and establish the correct national narrative.
  • Youth Engagement: Provincial programs targeting youth aged 15-30, with a focus on service, nation-building, and the Panch Parivartan initiative.

Key Issues Addressed

In the interactive session with media representatives, Hosabale addressed pressing national concerns:

Repeal of the Wakf Act: He noted that encroachments by Wakf properties affect many farmers, urging the government to address these injustices.

Historical Icons: He emphasized that India should idolize those who contributed positively to society and not figures like Aurangzeb, whose legacy represents intolerance and division.

Religious Reservation: He called religious-based reservations unconstitutional, citing multiple court rulings against them.

Manipur Crisis: He acknowledged government efforts in Manipur and called for comprehensive measures to restore peace and harmony.

RSS’s 100-Year Mission: The Sangh’s primary objective, he stated, remains the reawakening and organization of Hindu society, overcoming challenges such as untouchability through Shakhas and inclusive activities.

Dattatreya Hosabale’s address set a clear roadmap for RSS’s next phase, focusing on expansion, grassroots engagement, and social harmony. As the Sangh enters its centenary year, it aims to deepen its outreach while staying committed to its founding principles. The coming year will see an intensified effort in nation-building, cultural preservation, and fostering unity across all sections of society.
