Bengaluru Set to Witness Sky-High Spectacle by Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team.
From February 10-14, the Indian Air Force's elite aerobatic team will light up the skies with their awe-inspiring precision and vibrant displays of national pride.

Bengaluru – Bengaluru is preparing for an extraordinary aerial show as the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) takes to the skies from February 10-14. The elite aerobatic team of the Indian Air Force will put on a thrilling performance that promises to captivate audiences with breathtaking maneuvers and precision flying.
Known as the “Ambassadors of the IAF,” the SKAT team is renowned for its remarkable skill, teamwork, and flawless coordination. The pilots, flying the iconic red-and-white Hawk Mk-132 jets, will perform a variety of stunning aerobatic feats, including gravity-defying loops, barrel rolls, inverted flying, and their signature DNA maneuver.
Formed in 1996, SKAT is the only nine-aircraft aerobatic team in Asia and one of the few of its kind in the world. The team has showcased its talents in over 700 performances across India and internationally in countries like China, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Thailand, Singapore, and the UAE.
The team consists of 14 highly skilled pilots, with Group Captain Ajay Dasarathi leading the charge and Group Captain Sidhesh Kartik serving as the Deputy Leader. They will fly in perfect synchronization, maintaining formations as close as five meters apart, demonstrating exceptional teamwork honed through years of rigorous training.
A notable addition to this year’s air show is the integration of smoke pods on the Hawk Mk 132 aircraft, an indigenous modification developed by the Indian Air Force. These pods will allow the team to produce colored smoke, replicating the Indian flag’s colors across the sky—a powerful symbol of national pride and engineering excellence.
Residents and visitors in Bengaluru can look forward to an unforgettable experience, as the skies are transformed into a canvas of precision flying and national spirit. Mark your calendars for this rare and exhilarating show, a testament to the excellence of the Indian Air Force.
