Bengaluru -  The sprawling Bangalore Palace Grounds is gearing up to host a two-day South India Festival, jointly organized by the Department of Tourism and FKCCI, aimed at boosting the tourism sector and hospitality industry of the region.

Tourism Director Ram Prasath Manohar, along with FKCCI Chairman Ramesh Chandra Lahoti, conducted a last-minute inspection of the festival's preparations. They provided final instructions to ensure the success of the event, expected to attract an investment of Rs 2000 crores in the tourism sector.

With about 1500 delegates from seven South Indian states and senior dignitaries from the hospitality industry expected to participate, the festival aims to showcase the tourism potential of the region.

Ram Prasath Manohar emphasized the festival's objective of bringing together the tourism sector and hospitality industry under one roof to elevate their presence on the world tourism map. Over 80 stalls will display the potential of the seven southern states, promoting tourism in the region.

FKCCI Chairman Ramesh Chandra Lahoti announced that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the festival on Saturday, June 15. The event will witness the presence of various dignitaries, including Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar and Tourism Minister H. K. Patil.

Governor Thawarchand Gehlot will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest in the evening on June 16, which will feature several seminars focused on the tourism and hospitality industry.

The festival aims to foster collaboration and investment opportunities in the tourism sector across South India, further solidifying the region's position as a premier tourist destination.
