Union Minister Suresh Gopi Files Complaint Against Media Personnel for Obstruction
Gopi Accuses Journalists of Hindering Security Duties and Blocking His Path; Former MLA Anil Akkara Also Files Complaint
Thrissur — Union Minister of State for Petroleum, Natural Gas, and Tourism, Suresh Gopi, has filed a formal complaint with the Thrissur city police commissioner, accusing media personnel of obstructing his passage and interfering with his security officers' duties. The incident reportedly occurred at Ramanilayam on Tuesday.
Gopi alleges that journalists obstructed his security team from performing their responsibilities. The police have commenced a preliminary investigation into these allegations.
Simultaneously, former MLA Anil Akkara has lodged a complaint claiming that Gopi physically pushed media personnel who were seeking his comments on the Hema Committee report and the BJP's demand for the resignation of CPI(M) MLA and actor Mukesh.
In response, Gopi dismissed the claims, asserting, “My way is my right,” and criticized media coverage of the film industry scandals as fabrications. The police are scheduled to record Akkara’s statement on as part of their ongoing investigations.
